Gemstones Brazil is an international wholesaler specializing in exquisite gemstones sourced primarily from artisanal mines nestled in the picturesque Jequitinhonha Valley of Minas Gerais, Brazil — one of the most important mineral-rich regions in the world.
Founded by Maíra Toledo in Barcelona in 2008, Gemstones Brazil builds on a rich family heritage in the mining and production of minerals and gemstones. Maíra’s family proudly owned and managed a mine located in the northeast of the Minas Gerais.
With a background in Environmental Studies from the University of Barcelona (UB), Maíra brings a strong commitment to sustainable and responsible mining practices, combining tradition with a modern, environmentally conscious approach.
In 2011, Gemstones Brazil relocated to Scotland, where we continued to grow and evolve. We launched our online store, making our carefully sourced gemstones accessible to customers across the UK, the US, continental Europe, and beyond.
Alongside our online presence, we began exhibiting at fairs and events throughout the UK, bringing our unique collections directly to jewellers and designers.
Today, our collection features a wide range of stunning gemstones — from unique emeralds and aquamarines to vibrant tourmalines and morganites, and sparkling topaz and citrines — all produced by skilled artisanal miners in Brazil.
